Serving the South West: Specialised scissor sharpening & sale of high-quality scissors

Not everyone needs sharpening every week. But when you do, you feel it straight away. The scissors drag, the cut slows down, and what should be a clean, confident motion turns into effort.

That’s usually the moment people start looking for someone reliable.

I provide a professional mobile scissor sharpening service across the South West, working with barbers and hairdressers who take pride in their tools and in the experience they give their clients.

No shortcuts. No guesswork. Just tools brought back to how they should feel.

Where I work

This isn’t a “postcode gamble” service. I focus on areas I can realistically cover well, so you get consistency and reliability.

Map of Southwest England featuring major areas: Somerset, Bristol, Devon in vivid colors. Text: "On-site & mobile sharpening."

In Somerset, I regularly work in Taunton, Yeovil, Bridgwater, Frome and Wells. These are strong core areas where I can offer flexible visits and ongoing support.

Around Bath and North East Somerset, I cover Bath, Keynsham, Midsomer Norton and Radstock, working with a mix of established salons and independent professionals.

Bristol is a key part of my route, including central Bristol, Clifton, Gloucester Road and Bedminster. These areas have a high concentration of busy salons where tools are used heavily and need to perform properly every day.

In Wiltshire, I cover Trowbridge, Salisbury, Chippenham and Melksham, supporting both independent stylists and growing salon teams.

Further south, I work across Dorset, including Bournemouth, Poole, Dorchester and Weymouth, where demand for quality sharpening is high and consistency matters.

In Devon, I travel to Exeter and surrounding areas. And in the New Forest area, I focus on Lymington, Ringwood and New Milton, where many clients value a more personal, dependable service.

If you’re based anywhere in between these areas, I’m very likely already passing through or can plan a stop — so don’t hesitate to get in touch.

How the service works

The goal is simple: make sharpening easy for you.

You can choose what suits your setup:

  • I can work directly in your shop or salon, or

  • I can take tools away and return them promptly from my fully equipped mobile setup

Some people prefer not to have sharpening happening in the salon environment. Others like everything done on-site. Both options are there, without compromise.

And importantly, you don’t need to cancel clients while your scissors are being serviced.

I provide quality loan scissors, so you can keep working without interruption. No lost time, no awkward rescheduling, no stress.

It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference to your day.

Why it matters

Good scissors aren’t just about sharpness. They’re about control, comfort and consistency.

When your tools are right:

  • Your cuts are cleaner

  • Your speed improves

  • Your hands work less

  • Your clients notice the difference, even if they can’t explain it

And when they’re not right, everything feels harder than it should.

That’s why I focus on doing the job properly, not quickly.

Ready when you need it

Some clients book regularly. Others get in touch when they start to feel the difference. Both are fine.

If you’re not sure whether your scissors need attention, that’s usually a sign they do.

Not sure if your tools are performing as they should? Let’s take a look.
